Sandstone Tours offers a variety of tour types and pick up times to give you the best choices for your guided tour of Monument Valley. Each tour is priced per person and private tours are available for an additional $35 per person. Prices listed do not include 11.1% sales tax.

Monument Valley Tour Descriptions:

• Standard Monument Valley Tour - 1.5 Hours - $55/person + tax - Reserve Now
Takes you along an approximately 17 mile valley drive route with 5-6 photo stops. This covers 15 miles of the self-driving route, but still is a viable option for most given the conditions of the road are very bad for most vehicles and you get the added value of the Navajo tour guide and experience of riding the valley with your friends/family in an open-air vehicle.

• Extended Monument Valley Tour - 2.5 Hours - $65/person + tax - Reserve Now

This tour takes you on the 1 1/2 hour route above and also adds and additional hour of valley tour along the restricted areas that are not available to the general public. You will see arches, sandstone formations, petroglyphs and many other sites not visible from the self-driving route. This is our most popular tour.

• Complete Monument Valley Tour - 4 Hours - $80/person + tax - Reserve Now

The four hour Monument Valley Tour takes you through all the sites in the main part of the valley. The only excluded portion of the park is Mystery Valley which can be seen on a separate tour or in the all-day tour.

• Sunrise in Monument Valley Tour - 3 Hours - $75/person + tax - Reserve Now

The Sunrise In Monument Valley tour takes you into a great sunrise viewing location and for a trek around the sites of the valley for 3 hours. Come watch a sunrise with us and see for yourself how colorful and beautiful the valley becomes as it embraces the sunlight. Please note that pickup times for a sunrise tour of the valley will vary depending on the time of year and availability is limited. The Sunset in Monument Valley tour takes you for an inspiring view of a sunset in Monument Valley and for a trek around the sites of the valley for 3 hours. Please note that pickup times for a sunset tour of the valley will vary depending on the time of year and availability is limited. • Standard Mystery Valley Tour - 2.5 Hours - $70/person + tax - Reserve Now

Mystery Valley as the name implies is full of mysterious and wondrous rock formations. This tour takes you down Mystery Valley which is restricted to the general public. This route is a more rugged route and may require walking/hiking up inclines to see some of the sites. This tour will show you many sandstone formations and petroglyphs.

• Complete Mystery Valley Tour - 4 Hours - $80/person + tax - Reserve Now

The four hour Mystery Valley Tour covers all of Mystery Valley which contains many arches, Anasazi ruins, petroglyphs and many sandstone formations. On the way you will pass some of the sites on the Monument Valley tour so this is a great choice for those wanting to see Mystery Valley.

• All Sights Tour - 6 hours - $130/person + tax - Reserve Now

The all day tour takes you throughout all of Monument Valley and Mystery Valley. You will see all the major sights the valley has to offer in this deluxe tour which takes you through many miles of valley formations with sights in every direction.

 

Reservation Information

Our reservation process is designed to be simple and efficient.  Once on the reservation page, simply fill out the form with all required information and you will receive a quick pricing summary for the full price of your tour and the required deposit to secure your tour.  After you have completed your tour reservation request, you will be directed to a page where you must click the payment button and pay the required $51 non-refundable reservation deposit.  Sandstone Tours will then provide you with a confirmation of your reservation and a map to your pickup location within 24 hours.  A reservation with Sandstone Tours is always a good idea and our special internet pricing makes it a no-brainer if you are planning to take a tour of Monument Valley.  Tour services for visitors who simply show up at the park without a reservation are rotated through several permitted tour companies at variable times, and you stand a good chance of getting stuck on a very expensive  and/or crowded tour with a less than desirable tour company (there are several).

 

Pick-up Times

Dates from 3/11/12 - 11/4/12 are affected by Daylight Savings Time.  Our standard pickup times for reserved tours are:  8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12:30pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 5pm, sunrise*, sunset*

 

Tax Information

Tour prices listed on this website do not include a 11.1% tax rate. The tax rate is for 4% Navajo Nation tax and 7.1% Arizona state tax.

 

Private Tours

A private tour ensures you get a guide and truck reserved specifically for your party only. On a non-private tour, you may be joined on your guided tour with other visitors to the park.  Each of our tour trucks will hold a maximum of 12 people.  Most reserved non-private tours are well short of the 12 person limit, however, we can only guarantee a tour for your party only if you pay the private reservation fee. If you want to secure a private tour be sure to choose the "Private" check box on the reservation form. A private tour reservation will add $75 to the total cost of the requested tour package.

 

Pick-up Locations

Sandstone Tours offers two pickup locations near the Monument Valley Tribal Park entrance. "The View Hotel Parking Lot" pickup spot is directly in front of The View Hotel and is an easy to find location. The main parking lot towards the left hand side is the "Visitor Center Parking Lot" and is near the tour information booth.  Maps illustrating each pickup location are shown below, and you will be emailed a copy of the appropriate map with your reservation confirmation.
